The compliance check that used to take weeks.
EU Battery Regulation 2023/1542 is one of the most ambitious product regulations in EU history — sustainability, traceability, transport-safety and labelling rolled into a single, deadline-staggered framework. It's also, currently, only readable to people who do this for a living.
BatteryComply is the bridge: upload the manufacturer's PDF, get a structured pass / conditional / fail review against every applicable Article and Annex, in under 60 seconds. Every finding cites the specific clause it comes from. No vague summaries, no "consultant says".
Why we built it
The old playbook for an importer faced with a new EU regulation looked like this: hire a compliance consultant for €800–€2 000 per document, wait three weeks, hope the document isn't already on a container halfway to Hamburg. That works once or twice a year. It doesn't work for an importer running 30 SKUs through customs every quarter.
The other option — read the 117-page Regulation yourself, cross-reference the Implementing Acts, the consolidated text from July 2024 with renumbered Articles, the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria §38.3, REACH Annex XVII — exists, but the cost is a week of your time and a non-trivial chance of missing something.
What we believe
Cite the source, always
Every finding in a BatteryComply report points to the exact Article or Annex it comes from. If we can't tie a flag to a clause, we don't surface it. No AI hallucinations, no "the model thinks".
Honest about what we are
BatteryComply is an automated risk-screening tool — not a notified body and not a substitute for legal advice. The site says so, the report says so, our terms say so. For high-stakes calls, we point you to a human.
Free until it's worth paying
Anyone can upload a PDF and see whether it's likely to clear customs. You only pay if you want the citations, the recommended actions, and the downloadable PDF report.
Privacy by default
Your PDFs aren't used to train models. They're processed for your check and deleted after 30 days. We don't run analytics fingerprinting. We don't sell anything to anyone.
The roadmap, in one paragraph
Today: 10 explicit checks against EU 2023/1542, UN 38.3 and REACH, in 5 languages. Next: pre-shipment supplier-spec drafter (we generate the DoC fields a non-EU manufacturer should populate), Battery Passport JSON-LD builder ahead of the February 2027 deadline, and a regulation-change watcher that emails you when a clause you've previously been graded against is amended. Further out: an API tier for AI agents and procurement systems doing this at scale.
