Terms of use

These terms apply when you use BatteryComply. They cover what we do, what we don't, refunds, and the limits of our liability. We've kept the legalese to a minimum.

Effective: 25 April 2026  ·  Provider: BatteryComply AS, Norway  ·  Contact: info@batterycomply.com

1. What BatteryComply is

BatteryComply is an online service that automatically reviews battery-product PDF documents (declarations of conformity, UN 38.3 test summaries, technical specifications, safety data sheets) and produces a structured compliance report against EU Regulation 2023/1542 and adjacent EU regulations. The free tier shows aggregate findings; the paid report includes full citations, finding details and recommended actions.

2. What BatteryComply is not

Important. BatteryComply provides automated risk assessments, not legal advice. Reports identify potential documentation gaps and do not guarantee customs clearance, regulatory approval or product compliance. Always consult a qualified customs or legal advisor before making commercial decisions.

3. Pricing & payment

Current pricing is shown on the homepage. Prices are in EUR; local currency equivalents are indicative. VAT is added where applicable based on your billing country. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see your card details.

4. Refund policy

We want you to feel safe paying. Specifically:

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend accounts that violate these rules, with refund prorated for unused paid checks.

6. Intellectual property

You retain all rights to the documents you upload. By uploading, you grant us a limited licence to process them solely to produce your report and operate the service. The audit methodology, the report format, the website code and the BatteryComply name and logo are our property.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of BatteryComply is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or commercial losses (lost profits, lost orders, customs detention costs, business interruption), even if we were warned they were possible. This does not limit liability for gross negligence, intent, or anything that cannot be excluded under Norwegian law.

8. Service changes & termination

We may improve, change or discontinue features. Material changes get 30 days' notice via email (where we have one) and a banner on the site. You may stop using the service at any time. We may terminate access for users who breach these terms.

9. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes go first to good-faith negotiation; if that fails, to the courts of Oslo, Norway. EU consumers retain rights under their local consumer-protection law and may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
